What PainCave is

A browser-based indoor cycling app. It connects to your smart trainer and heart-rate strap over Bluetooth, runs structured interval workouts in ERG mode, and records every second of the ride. When you're done you can download the ride as a .FIT or .TCX file, or push it straight to Strava.

There are no accounts and no subscription. Your rides live in your browser, on your device — see the Privacy Policy for exactly what that means.

Who builds it

One person. PainCave is built and maintained solo by Christopher Boe Jensen — there's no company behind it, no support team, and no ticket queue.

That's worth knowing before you write in: you'll get a reply from the person who wrote the code, but not instantly.

Getting help

Something broken, confusing, or missing? Email support@paincave.fit and I'll do my best to get back to you.

It helps enormously if you include your browser and operating system, your trainer make and model, and what you were doing when it went wrong. If a trainer or sensor failed to connect, PainCave can generate a connection diagnostic report — that one file usually answers more than a long description can.

Strava

Connecting Strava is optional and PainCave works fully without it. If you've connected and want to revoke access, you can do it from your Strava account settings at any time, or from Settings here.
